I focused heavily on colors and value rather than accuracy. I found that I mess up quite often by trying to concentrate on too many factors at a time, leading to frustration and an unfinished painting. Not everything has to be a master piece or perfectly rendered, especially when in the learning stages. As long as it reads well as the original image does, it's all good. Then refining can start from there.reference:
