Description
Our Dogs Doogan and Marlow. This was done in Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop Elements for the finishing. This was about 12 hours of work. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I was going for an illustrative feel. How did I do?**EDIT**
Enlarged the boys a bit and added a little more sparkle fr printing. Hows it look now?

Great job. I love the painterly feel you created. The fur on the black dog is really when done, not easy to do.

I must comment on this picture. I feel you did so well capturing two very different personalities here, and it looks like the type of picture one would find on a book cover or in a text book; a very professional illustrative piece.

You got the illustative feel quite right in my opinion. The colors on the blacks muzzle are so great! And the dogs realy look like some right characters, not just "some dog or another".
The only minor suggestion for improvement would be the muzzle of the light dog. There is not realy an outline on the lower part - so it seems to merge with the background or the other side of the head. But realy - its minor!

I'm glad I got the look I was going for! Thanks for your comment too! Love your suggestion, I may have to clean that up before I print this. It's intended for my living room wall so I should probably look into that!

well, now! long time no see, there. My friend you are truly getting good. These two are incredible and I don't think anything bad could be said for either. A lot of heart went into these. Remember that illustration is more than just a style of art. It has to tell a story and connect with it's readers in some way. O.k. Enough technical Justin....I'm just floored bro...the hats off and I'm a bowing low. Good job and this is going to be in my favorites for sure! wow!!!!!!

Thanks Justin! Long time no see! Thanks so much for that. These guys have been my buddies for the past 5 years it felt only right that they get thier due. By illustrative effect I meant I wanted them to have a drawn/painted for the saturday evening post kinda feel. I hope you can connect with these guys. Marlow, is the doe eyed sissy pants and Doogan is the happy go lucky just wanna be petted kind of dog. I hope that came across.
I hope we see more of you around here man, Miss you bro!

I'm no expert but I love it. I especially like how you focus on the fur at the boundaries to create the feel!
