Your coloring skills are so admireable!! I wish I were as good as this..

question:
Since you seem very experienced with both markers as colored pencils,
When I colour a lineart with coloured pencils, but wanna add some white streakes in, for example, hair, skin or clothing, would a marker be any good? Will it cover the pencils or blend with the colours? Because markers are too expensive for me to go around and just buy them so if you'd be so kind to help me with this question I'd appreciate it very much.
I already tried white gelpens but they don't cover the colours. they just fade or blend.
