Description
The character in the picture is actually called 'Forlorn', and is from a story/comic-in-progress of mine. However, Forlorn's appearence (and much of her character) are based on me, infact I tend to think of her as 'fantasy me'
So I felt it would make sense to use her as my 'user id' here on DA. Infact even most of the outfit is based on what I was wearing the day I drew her. Obviously I don't have horns, elf ears or armour; but the butterfly-sleeve cream top, pink laced under-top, red pencil behind the ear, red pants and feather hair-clip are all mine in real life. The hairstyle is typical of me on a day when i think I'm not going to be seen. The information is about me, not Forlorn
; Hahaha, I'm probably confusing you now, sorry. Well I intend to use the character art in a character sheet for Forlorn later, along with expressions and other angels etc. I'll upload that when I've finished it, and maybe give some info on the character then. Ahhh, it's good to be working on my own characters again XD

wow, it looks very realistic for a cartoon character, the shading really gives it a rendered feel. Great job on the armguard(not sure what to call it) its very interesting design

Cool design. The way you've shaded the metal with so many different colours...makes me what to eat it...it looks like some very yummy and crunchy candy

Your shading is so warm and vivid and delicious to look at. I see so many artists going the Hyung Tae Kim route with the less saturated colors for shading, but you use it very sparingly where it is naturalistic and expected and I love it (like in the metal). The shading in the hair is especially nice and warm. Mind you, I LOVE his work, I adore it, but sometimes the way he shades with the almost grey colors makes me miss warmer tones.
I'm an artist who loves vivid, bright colors, but so much art I see now has less saturated colors and I always feel pressured to sort of "fit in", but it's nice to see other artists like yourself stay true to your style while still bringing in new influences to keep your work fresh and improving.
I'm looking really hard to find something to critique so this is a good, helpful comment. The only thing I can think of is that the hand on the right side of the drawing is a bit hard to distinguish, and that I wish you had done more stray hairs, like the one in the back of the head near the ear. But this is basically a perfect piece, I love it.
Also I am a fan of Norse/North Men stuff. Ever see 13th Warrior? It's one of my favorite movies.

Thanks ^_^ yeah, I love bright colours - I like the low sat ones too, but for me I just prefer to see variety ^^ went through a bit of a HTK phase, but I think I'm out of it now, and back to my usual 'thang'. I've still got an unfinished HTKish one to upload, but it's the alst of them.
No, I wanted to see 13th Warrior, but I was talked out of it by my sister, who was dissapointed by it *sigh* I wish I'd gone to see it though! Perhaps it'll come on TV some time^^

Brilliant use of colours--there are quite vibrant and in-your-face~ Your semi-chibi style is very nice, but what I love most of all is the costume design XD love that arm bracer thing~

Thanks ^_^ Feather clips are fun, I used to have three, but two of them disintergrated (they do that over time). This one seems to have lasting power though, I've had it for a few years now ^_^
My eyes rock X3 They're proabably the only thing I like about the physical me. They even change patternation/colouration gradually, but I can't figure out what makes them do it, I think it's light/weather related.

Chaotic Good is a D&D alignment. The first half of the statement dictates how lawful a person is, and the latter their inherant nature, good, evil or neutral. For example, Robin hood, who steals from the rich to give to the poor, would be 'Chaotic Good'.
A politician might be considered 'Lawful Evil' by some ^_~
