This is brilliant, love the sense of scale to it. (That's something none of the adaptations have gotten right, I think. The worms always end up looking a bit goofy and they really shouldn't.)

I can see a tale of EPIC proportions unfolding in my mind! I love the colour palette used! I like how the use of so many colours and textures and brushstrokes in all different directions makes the negative space so interesting to look at; and makes an otherwise empty picture busy. Watch out guys! D8 Hold onto your hats!

Nope, no references used. I just match the colours how I feel they would work with each other well. It is a practice, where I try to explore my own thinking, without looking for ideas in any photos. There are some custom brushes, but nothing magic

i dont believe in magic and i certainly dont believe in custom brushes
dont get me wrong im not one of those who depend on them for everything
in fact most of what i paint only use the hard round for everything
the colors however i cant seem to them as i want most of the time

Colours are very hard to master, it takes a lot of observation. But on the other hand if values are more less right, you can choose whatever colour you want... You're on a good way as I can see in your gallery! Unfortunatelly in art we have to take two steps back to come four ahead...
