It almost looks like one of the ThunderBirds. Now it just needs a supermarionette pilot.

Yeah, it kinda does! I need to just put a big white number on it!
The inspiration were those crazy looking rocket craft found in Toho movies (like "Gorath") and in the "Ultraman" series...then mix in a little Lear Jet and BINGO!!

I assume that it is strictly a space craft, though... it can't land, because of the ventral fin?

It can land, the ventral fin folds to the right just prior to landing ( kinda like the old MiG-23's did) and a small wheel comes down.
On each nacelle there's a landing gear, and a nose wheel comes down, the gear pattern is much like a B-52 bomber's.
I guess I'm going to have to show one parked, there a few spaceport pics I'm working on...I'll have to shoe horn a ISLS-12 into one of those scenes background.

Thanks, it was a quickie, but I liked the general results.
Spacecraft are so much fun to design.

That they are, I use to have heaps of fun doing that, pity the sketchbooks have vanished over time
