Description
About a year ago I came across Philip k Dick’s book V.A.L.I.S. I found it totally mesmerising and wondrous. Its part fiction, part autobiography, part science fiction, part political satire, part work of philiosphy and religious exploration. He accepts that all these ‘revelations’ could possibly be insanity or drug induced sequelae. Except for the fact he had some real life experiences that reinforced the validity of his visions, this was where his faith and intellect wrestled.Sorry about the watermark but it deters people ripping off your art.

Oh boy.
VALIS.
That book did things to me.
If you enjoyed this piece, you should totally follow up with Divine Invasion and Transmigration of Timothy Archer - these three belong together and complete each other in strange ways.

To elaborate; these three books map what could be considered the wildest of Dick's phases (not to imply that the rest of his life was peaceful) - VALIS feels a lot like the initial shock, Divine Invasion would be rationalization and then finally comes the resolution.
But that is really a gross simplification.
Nonetheless, they do form a trilogy for a reason.

Very interesting...I'm a big fan of PKD, but have not read this one (it's proving to be hard to find).

Cheers, that's great...audiobooks are fun once in a while, I remember listening to Paul Giamatti read "A Scanner Darkly".
Philip's work often requires multiple reads for me..."digestion" is often difficult.
