Description
This is actual a drawing done with char-ko (charcoal) of Sesshoumaru (left), Rin (right) and Naraku (top). Sesshoumaru can sense something wrong that would endanger Rin. That is when Naraku will kidnap Rin. This is actually for a final test in figure drawing class and I ran out of time so Rin didn't look as apealing as the others and I should of done better. But without the people who answered my precious questions I wouldn't of gone this far. Thank you Hitaku, Luen, Mr. Sloth, Jackbot, and all my friends!!! I don't know why there are some brown spots but I think it because of the light when I took a picture of it. He he I should of scanned it but it's 18x24 inches so no can do. I'll fix the drawing after the finals and submit a better version.Related content

This piece hooked me the moment I looked at it. the fact that it is a charcoal drawing wows me even more. The artist seems to have complete control of the median, and that median is far from easy to get this definition in the work. I get the sense that perhaps you were trying to capture a sort of dream or spiritual state and have acheived this with the charcoal shading. You get a sense of prescence within the drawing and there is a very clear story trying to be told here. Honestly I would advise the artist to keep pushing this technique with charcoal you can only excel.

Great work with charcol, I know from experience that it can be hard to work with. Each character seems very well done but as a whole I feel like its a little complicated and could use some sharper dark lines to outline the characters and somewhat seperate them from one another. The position that the girl is in is very unclear to me. I absolutely love the entire consept of the picture and the general flow of the man in the top corner to the moon and full circle back to the girl. If the girl is having a vision as you said in your description then I think it would make the picture more realistic if you faded the other two characters as if they are memories coming from her mind. To also inhance the concept in which your going for you could add a small amout of color to the girl to make her seem real and the others, not. I know I kind of criticized this alot and I really dont feel it needs much work, I'm only giving ideas for future drawings. This was a hard picture to create and you did a very nice job. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Ooooh, this is pretty! Especially to be done in charcoal (which has a love/hate relationship with me) I like the composition, especially because Naraku makes it more top-heavy. It makes for an appealing piece.

Why thank you Squeak. Heehee well I cut off about 2 inches of the pic from the right where Rin's foot is cut off. That's one of the problems of the pic. How I do the shading? well I done lots of overlaying with the same charcoal I used throughout the whole time I drew this. The only reference I used is a picture of a moon I found which happens to have Sesshoumaru and his group as well. Oh yeah, I did this at a very bright room so that I can get the contrast. Some people don't get the right contrast when they're in a dim room. And since this is 18x24, I would stand back about 20 feet and look at it every hour. Helps to keep a good contrast as well. Well I did this for a final last semester and now I'm making the art final for this semester. Hopefully it's good that everyone will enjoy. Otherwise, I would like to hear comments, suggestions and advices.
Thank you for the kind comment.
