Ok, I haven't used watercolors in about 10 years or so, and I have never used watercolor pencils, so forgive me if this isn't up to my usual standards...I have colored this using mixed media, (because the watercolor pencils just weren't doing it for me! ) ...almost gave up and ripped it to shreds the first day!
Probably just need a lot more practice... 
I used Lyra Osiris watercolor pencils, Laurentien Studio colored pencils, prismacolor colored pencils, and some white acrylic paint... on 140 lb. watercolor paper...
Not sure I like how it turned out... I now remember why I switched to Acrylics...
...so much easier to fix your mistakes with Acrylics...Oh well, hope you like it!

This looks great! Watercolor pencils may be a bit hard to handle (I've tried myself a few times), but I think you did a wonderful job

I'd have liked it if you hadn't ruined one's (well, my) being able to appreciate it, by using the unsubtle default dA watermark.

...on to more interesting things... I think I will do another portrait of Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander. I found an interesting photo of him the other day dressed in his Highland regalia... Maybe a nice pencil sketch this time, something familiar...

haha! I know what you mean. It seems odd though how whenever i go into my verison of "Artsy mode" it always happen right in the middle of a math lecture.
I hope you get some time to work on the portrait; how many friends does your daughter have? haha.

As you have already seen, I did get a chance to finish my portrait of Duncan...and you're right about being inspired at the oddest times... Just when you feel like drawing, something happens that prevents it...
My other daughter, has many girlfriends... but it's the "boy" that I meant

I'm going to make my own halloween costume too. I dont know what it's going to be though. I'm probably just gonna paint a bunch of pieces of cardboard and tape them to myself.
