this is how i paint my "gatotkaca"done in photoshop cs3, mac and hanvon graphic tablet
i hope you guys enjoy this step by step as much as i did..
this is not the final artwork, still so many refinement and details to go..

in step 7 where you have just grey tones, does that end up just going above your flat colors layer as an overlay?

do you mean overlay layer blending mode?
actually i didnt use greyscale, instead i was using brown scale (just doing some experiment with colors)
about the step 7 i was just adding some highlits and details with normal layer mode
