Well, realization... I guess that would be something for robotic engeniers 
Improving the picture... hmmm... first of all.. more details and the colors should be more metallic.. more grey and blue I guess.
The cord could be on the back of his head or there might be multiple cords and the placenta (I believe that is the word) should be less flesh/blood like and probably more like oil and electricity. I think the cords would be the source of electricity then. I guess that would be what a robot is nurished with. Maybe it should be surrounded by particels of metal or little scraps of metal or something like this rather than flesh because it needs to 'absorb' material to grow.

thank you. the photo does not do the justice to this one. for the pink i used the fluorescent sharpie paint marker, which is freaking BRIGHT! and yeah, pink is awesome!
