Description
Test of new painting app for android - Infinite Painter. Tested on Note Pro 12.2. App is pretty nice with good brush engine. The big con is slowing down after a while. After 30 minutes it is hard to paint, it works slow and the cpu lag is very unconfrtable. So the wait is not over. Still room for good and stable android app for painters.Whats You favorite painting app for android?

I like of the Infinite Painter and Infinite Desing however both are too instables. I used in Galaxy Note 1 and Cintiq With Tegra 4 , and still instable after any minutes os use. In this applications you must save at all time. The Eraser is a disaster in Infinite Desing, causes lag ans instability.
The most stable app i was tested is the SketchBook Pro without use many Blend modes he is confortable. But he not have cut tools (use the Galaxy note for this) or vector rulers. If only have a Oval ruler... but only have a circular ;_;
Also i tested The new Skechbook (2014) too, this last has a very cool interfaces, have selection tools ^^ but lacks stability ;_; .
The Wacon app's , basead in Infinite Painting is ridiculous instable too.
The Art flow and Layers HD are very nice app's however both too are instable after a time of use.
I see today the Android like a good plataform for sckethes only, paint him is a frustrant because the instable app's.
The same with the IOS, i have tested any few app's with a Ipad2. They are a little more stable than Android however a picture in high resolution with many layers you had slow downs but don't crash.
The definitive tablet for Painting must see a Cintiq with Windows 8 or a Surface Pro 3. The both have the better app's of market and better hardware.

Cannot agree more. Android app are very unstable. All of them. Serious painting is remotly impossible. You can have some fun, doodle some simple stuff but thats all. Usefull functions are shared through various apps and there is no app that have all good stuff. For now Sketchbook 2014 is best option for me in terms of fast rendering engine and stability. It has also good enough interface.
conclusion is Surface Pro 3 or ideally Companion 2. Other stuff are just toys.

Hey I recently bought a NotePro 12.2 too! I've been on the same quest for the ultimate painting/drawing app.
So far I have tried most of them and bought quite a few. My faves are now Corel Painter mobile, Autodesk Sketchbook, and Artflow. After looking at your painting however and reading your description I went to retest infinite painter to jog my memory on its performance and tool set, and found it had a update. Are you using the newest infinite painter app? It is a red icon with a brush, not the black and white old icon? It feels light years faster than the app I remember trying when I downloaded the original. I guess he added support for opengl. ... according to the release notes. Anyway, just wanted to know if you knew it has been updated very very recently. As well, Art rage for android finally released. Its available only to samsung products at the moment, so you have to download it only from the galaxy apps store, not the regular play store. The problem I have with it: it is lag city, but it has the most realistic tools of them all so far.
Not sure how much app researching you have done, but I'm repeatedly told that the most robust and professional painting app is still Clover Paint. Closest thing you'll get to procreate on android apparently, with a difficult learning curve on the UI side as its main caveat.
I really enjoyed painting with the newest infinite painter, I may try to paint something more complicated soon to get an idea if I want to unlock the whole package or not.

Thanks for sharing. Ive chececked all of them. Only art rage is still to test. And yes, im using newest Infinite Painter. For me fastest is Art Flow. But has others cons. Corel Painter and Infinite Painter has best brush engine. But theyre are getting slow and laggy after a while of advanced painting. Clover Paint is super complicated and is packed with stuff. But still very laggy. Hope soon someone will relese stable program that will let us actually work and not only play.

I haven't bought clover paint yet, and wondered if it was also laggy, thanks for letting me know. I agree that ArtFlow is the fastest.
Ultimately none of these are gonna touch the experience of painting on my T902 (very powerful Wacom convertible) but the NotePro is fun to get a painting started on at least, if not just for the sheer ease of using fingers to navigate the screen compared to Windows touch nightmare.
I too look forward to Android catching up in terms of performance and options!
