Description
Approx 20cm x 15cmBeads, wires, threads and custom made 'sequins' on black felt.
A friend asked me to create a piece of textile art for her, and this is the result.
It's a lot like drawing, but with the materials listed above with the felt as the paper. The shapes and swirls are certainly like a lot of my abstract work.

This is absolutely stunning! How long did it take you to do it? Did you do a sketch of it before? Is there any chance you'll upload it in a higher resolution?

It took around 30 hours of work.
No sketch before hand - I knew the colours I wanted to use and I knew I was going to use spirals to form the basic structure of the design. Other than that, I just let it all flow, one spiral at a time being placed then all the embellishing with beads and threads and the 'sequins'.
Sadly, I no longer have the artwork and the person it was made for is no longer in contact with me so a better photo isn't possible.

Oh my goodness, this is so detailed! All of the fine little elements that went to making this, all of the effort put into this...it must've taken a really long time. The designs are just fabulous!!! Something like that must be well though out, but you did such an excellent job with it. Congrats on the DD, you most definitely deserve it! Keep up the fantastic work...still stunned at how amazing this looks and how much detail there is! Especially in the colors!!!

I make the 'sequins' by the clever use of a laminator and a pair of scissors! All kinds of things get put in the pouches and well ... some work out, some don't. Gold leaf is interesting, I have some holographic paper ready to try out on a suitable project ...
