Description Approx 20cm x 15cm

Beads, wires, threads and custom made 'sequins' on black felt.

A friend asked me to create a piece of textile art for her, and this is the result.

It's a lot like drawing, but with the materials listed above with the felt as the paper. The shapes and swirls are certainly like a lot of my abstract work.

I love how this piece is so abstract, It really works and comes together as a nice decorative piece of art. It reminds me of stars in the night sky or fireworks.

The felt was evenutally firmly attached to mountboard with some padding beneath it to lift the design a little.

I placed the wire spirals on the felt and stitched them in place to form the basic architecture and then embellished around and within them using beads and threads and my own home-made 'sequins'...
