I only work on my own ideas at weekends....and after working all week on other peoples stuff, I don't get a lot to completion these days.
Specially as what I want to do is more ambitious so sucks up time like it's going out of fashion. Need to get more personal bits finished quicker. The one I've been working on has been 4 months already!

Glad you like. The idea goes over some people's heads

oh thank you very much for the information! and I found a few companies in Russia! it is much cheaper than in the shops for cars! I understand technology! will need to else release agent of wax ...
Can you advise - I thought about working on a portrait sculpture (I have a little experience)... but I use polymer clay (Super Sculpey) and think to change it to chavant or monster clay .. What can you advise of clay? (I tried to use the medium chavant but he too sticks to instruments)

Depends how big you're sculpting. Lots of people seem to like monster clay [I've not used it]. For life size stuff, I just use a basic smooth bodied ceramic potters clay, very cheap. As it dries out it gets firmer which makes detailing easier.
To stop it getting too dry [and cracking up] in thin sections [like ears etc] or long periods of time, just spritz with water now and again. Wrap up when not working on it in garbage bags.

and sorry Andy that I'm asking you a lot of questions ... in Russia, I have very little information about the materials. You're really helping me!I hope I'm not much bothered (and sorry for my english (I'm learning myself from books and videos)
PS:I heard that many people use wed clay .. surprised that you use a material as the usual potters clay ...(you are doing very good work and is very surprised me about the clay) One more question - I promise! last. How are you hiding the seams after casting? I use a sharp scissors. and neatly cuts off .. but still remains a trace. just a hint! you use the Dremel and sand cleanly trail?

Yes, then use silicone to blend the seam away. Trick is to make good moulds so your seams are almost invisble.

People get too stuck up on the "proper" materials like using WED clay, rather than being "creative". The only benefit using WED is in a hot climate so it doesn't dry out as fast. In England and Russia, that isn't too much of a problem.

Go to www.theeffects.com and you will find lots of info to keep you busy.

oh you're right 100 percent! too much time thinking about the material. It's real sometimes. sometimes I find myself thinking - about the materials and not the art. Oh, I found you on Facebook! there are many interesting people! (Link www.theeffects.com - It does not work for me and writes - Not Found, Error 404)
