I'm not too sure about how this turned out, but it's long enough that I'm not going to rewrite it.

“Can you believe that weirdo tried to ask me out of all people?” Vanessa said as she walked through the mall with her best friends. Sarah, Vanessa, Lacey, and Emily were accustomed to drawing attention. Each of the four girls was attractive in her own right, and they often went out together, catching the eyes of any man they passed.

“That kid was stuttering so much! I’m surprised you understood him at all, Vanessa,” Sarah chimed in. The other girls giggled, and Sarah continued. She was the most talkative one of the four, and she loved talking smack.

“Were those three creeps with him supposed to be his backup squad? Don’t tell me he actually thought that the four of them had a chance with the four of us!” Sarah exclaimed, prompting more giggles from the other girls.

“I bet they live with their moms or something. Just a bunch of-whoa!” Sarah’s tirade was suddenly cut short as she tumbled to the ground. To her, a strange numbness had overtaken her foot as she stepped down, causing it to land at an unexpected angle. The rest of her body pitched forward as her foot seemed to miss its mark.

“Wow, Sarah! Clumsy, much? Maybe you need to go back to training heels,” said Lacey, as she walked over to help. She extended her hand towards Sarah, but Sarah only looked up at her. “Uhh, Sarah? What gives? Give me your hand.”

Sarah strained to lift her right arm to grab Lacey’s outstretched hand, but her arm wouldn’t budge, subjected to the same numbness she now felt in both of her legs and feet. She shifted her focus to her left arm and found that she still had control of it. But before she could reach out, her right arm lashed out and slapped Lacey’s hand away.

“Ow! What gives, Sarah?” Lacey cried out. “I was just trying to help!”

“I don’t know what’s happening. I can’t -mmph!” Sarah started to explain, but she was cut off as her right hand reached back to cover her mouth. Her left arm, now numb as well, pushed against the ground and she felt her body lift itself off. It was a surreal feeling that “she” was moving despite not being in control.

With her body standing upright again, her right hand released her lips from confinement.

You have to help me! I can’t move my body! Something’s controlling me!

These thoughts echoed in Sarah’s head, but no words left her mouth. She tried desperately to do anything, shake her head, blink her eyes, but her body responded to none of her commands. What was going on?
