Description
Though I quite liked the new Godzilla design, there were a couple areas I was a bit unsatisfied with. I’ve been doodling my own concept Godzilla and this is what I came up with. See it without lightning here

Lifting that sort of weight requires that sort of foot (hence elephants have them, and rhinos, and hippos...). It has nothing to do with being a predator or prey but the mobility of the creature, and Godzilla is very, very slow.
It's nearly impossible for a godzilla-sized walking creature to exist at all, but the movie does try to be more anatomically correct. The original Godzilla feet and man-like body make no sense to begin with. The entire design was the result of being limited to using a man-made costume, but you probably already know that. Godzilla was supposed to look like a dinosaur but they couldn't get it done.

I actually liked the legs how they were in the movie. Considering that the original godzilla's legs were like that because it was a guy in a suit! Personally, I thought that was a great detail in the movie as a kind of homage to the old classics.

I see your point. They could have been a bit more supple and less awkward rectangle. It was my impression that they did the legs as a homage, though. As if they could repair the blunder they made with the image of the Godzilla 2000 beast. Because that wasn't Godzilla.

You done an awsome drawing! Of course, many people have an interpretation of Godzilla as Toho did in the many Godzilla's movies. But I think the design of 2014 movie is an excellent one. People complaint about his huge feet but keep in mind that Godzilla had never normal feet like dinosaurs or elephants in a biological point of view. He have a massive feet to stand up right like a human being (not like dinosaurs). So, it's logic that Godzilla have these huge feet to support a huge weight too.

Hahah. It figures that the artist who draws realistic Pokemon would have a problem or two with the new, less-reptilian Godzilla. XD I personally prefer the canonical Godzilla over your design, but I like your changes as well, specifically the spikes on its back. I like how long and sharp they are, they remind me of a mountain range, or a crown - fitting for the King of the Monsters.

I was quite content with the movie and Godzillas updated design. There was a very amphibious effect to him whilst still keeping his reptilian awesomeness. Great work once again though!

Very cool, though I think that the legs could use a bit more and bulk and the spine/body ratio seems a bit high to me. Also, do I detect a hint of Spinosaur in the head design?
