Fiiinally. I promised you. And here it is.
The cover for the chapter that has just concluded, Chapter 3!
Congrats to everyone who guessed, the Hero to appear on the cover was indeed Orca!
This one took me a whole afternoon, but I was SO satisfied when I completed it^^
I imagined summing up the events of Chapter 3 in this picture. Orca surrounded by some Demons with the Destiny Sword in the background and a shadowy figure sneaking for it I'm pretty sure you know who that figure is! ;D
Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this cover, and the upcoming Chapter 4!
I am still working on the plot to change, I have the scene in my mind but it's taking me a while to find a way to synthesize it and put it on paper^^ Oh well, soon, soon!
Coloured Pencils on A4 Paper.
Several hours.
Characters and art (c)
I want to improve, I greatly appreciate feedback and constructive criticism regarding anatomy, page flow and overall composition. Thank you!

Hi, can I ask you a couple of questions? Well I want to know how long it took you to do one page at a time? How much money have you earned so far from selling you comic? And what paper and sketchbook do you use? Please answer all my questions! thanks.

Sure thing!
One page takes me an average of 10 hours, depending on complexity it can take a little more or less
As for earnings, I honestly haven't earned much so far, that's the main reason why chapter 3 hasn't been printed yet
As for paper, I use regular A4 white inkjet office paper, the one commonly used for printers My sketchbooks are from many different brands, I don't use one in particular
I basically draw on any piece of paper I find XD

Hoho you guessed This sword is very ancient and has already been used in countless battles, therefore it's quite cracked. However, it's also very sturdy and despite its frail looks, it won't break that easily
But the cracks ARE going to be important later on
Can't reveal anything though!

But in that case, wouldn't Motyl be able to heal the sword? Like she did to the statue later on?

Not quite, healing the sword takes a lot of energy, way beyond her power

Looking closer, I absolutely adore Jackel's pose in the background
He's all like, "yeah, imma take my time walking over to that sword in style. My minions will fight those heroes for me. I'm too busy being cool to fight,"

Okami isn't Clover Studio's masterpiece -.- The game is based 94% on Shinto mythology, even if it portrays the gods as fools and changes some parts of the actual mythological story in the game. You have the Japanese to thank for the story, not Clover Studio. Clover Studio only altered it a bit and made it into a game.

Clover Studio made the legend AWESOME. Okami is a unique game with wonderful graphics, a memorable array of characters, great fun to play, and with excellent and appropriate soundtrack.
I've never called it "the most original Clover Studio game", I know exactly that the story comes from Japanese legends. Does that make videomaking companies "lazy" or "thieves" because they based their games off popular legends? No, of course not. Out of all the videogames that were indeed based on legends, I think Okami is the best one, and deserves to be called a masterpiece.

In my opinion I think it was fine the way it was. They didn't even make the gods act like how they act in the legends. ( Amaterasu was the only god that came out of Shinto mythology, the rest are made up) No, they don't have to make them act EXACTLY as they would in the actual stories, but I think a little more accuracy would've made it better in my opinion. Yes, they did a fine job at making the whole game look like actual paint, and I agree with you on the soundtrack part too, I especially like the one called 'Rising Sun.'
I honestly didn't like the game along with its sequel. Yeah, they can go ahead and make some of the things silly to attract an audience, but the way they portrayed Amaterasu was ridiculously stupid.
I think 'masterpiece' is an overstatement. The game still has flaws.

Sure, the Gods' names/looks are made up, but they're still a part of Chinese/Japanese mythology, they are the twelve Chinese zodiac signs.
I agree, they could have made the story closer to the actual legends, and to be honest, "Okamiden" was borderline for a game, you could see it was definitely pushed just to give a sense to its prequel Okami.
And of course the game (Okami) still has flaws, every game does As you said, it doesn't stick to the real version of the mythology, but at least it made me want to go and research about it on my own. Because of the impact it had on me (it inspired me to create my comic too) and because of the artwork which is definitely a point in its favour, I consider it a masterpiece, but of course, this doesn't mean that it actually is (like, it didn't win the "masterpiece award" XD), and I fully respect and, in part, agree with your opinion

Oh yeah, I forgot about that XD
Okamiden had some flaws too, such as how they focused more on the human characters that went along with Chibiterasu rather than Chibiterasu himself. However... The final boss was pretty good, MUCH better than Okami's final boss. Okami's final boss was dumb in my opinion XD I think they could've at least made Yami a large shark and not a lame Coyfish or whatever kind of fish Yami is. In mythology, Chibiterasu's real name isn't even Chibiterasu, it's actually Nininji ( not sure how to spell it) Kinda disappointing to see how many Okami fans don't know that, even though the idea for Okamiden came from a joke that one of the producers/artists came up with.
Yeah, when I first played the game, I just had to research about how they came up with the ideas, and it turns out it's mostly real world mythology.
The game did indeed win an award, I just forgot what it was called XD
I respect yours as well :3 It's nice to see an Okami fan who actually knows that Okami is based highly on real mythology. I admit I came off as a bit rude before, so I must apologize.
