Actually I wouldn't have a problem with it. I am technically an only child, but through spiritual means, I discovered that my female romantic partner is literally the other half of my soul, and therefore our relationship is selfcestuous.

They mention true love between sisters. What truer bond is there than the relationship between siblings? I can see how siblings can grow romantically attracted to one another, as they are around one another more than anyone else. In these girls' case, they were actually separated, and proved that their bond was still strong despite the time apart.
