I think you've done an excellent job with the coloring and proportions. I'm really able to tell that those are gills on his neck, and I really like the little cluster of scales on the side of his face that taper off into his ear. The highlights are well placed, on the scales, hair, and jewelry. You've done a nice job making sure Rin stands out against the background, despite his hair being a very similar color scheme.Β
In terms of where you could improve, I would say that the background could use some more detail. I get that it's supposed to be the open ocean, but it just looks like ocean colors painted onto a background.Β
I would also say that the light outline around him, while it does help make him stand out against the background,seems sketchy and unfinished and doesn't fit the rest of the portrait. Other than that it looks great.
