The smooth transition between shadow and light really give that almost 3-D look. The captured expression looks sudden and spontaneous, revealing that he could possibly be a little lonely. The asymmetrical clothing adds more realism to the captured moment, his slightly messy hair gives off the impression of a sad lonely emotion, and so do the eyes and mouth.
Overall he looks like he is in search of a compatible companion, either male or female. I like the overall look of this picture, it really has a nice spontaneous 3D quality emotional moment to it.
I would give a overall rating of 4 and a half stars.
