Description
Here's my costume from last night. I really really wish I had contacts that looked like this though! Really would have set it off.So I sat on the porch with my neighbors and handed out candy.... and scared the urine out of little kids! What else was there to do?!
I really like how my cheek bone turned out. The cheek bone was a small appliance I made out of your basic Halloween liquid latex and some cotton balls, the rest was gelatin,make-up and homemade blood.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Awesome, as always!
Question though, how do you/what do you use to make your skin so gray and white?
I've tried just using black and white cream makeup, but it either doesn't blend nicely, or it becomes blotchy with too much black, and/or it doesn't smooth out evenly over the entire face.
Another thing I have trouble with, is whenever I use scar wax or even toilet paper to make wounds, it seems it takes forever to get the 'prosthetic' to blend in or I use too much makeup and it comes off -even with being attached to the skin with spirit gum and liquid latex.

Thanks!
In actuality the make-up had a bit more of a bruised and purple-ish look to it. I took this photo without flash under a yellowish orange light so it gave it a nice dry decomposed look to it. (Not for this make-up in particular) but when I blend my make up I tend to use lots of different colors, a lot of it's trial and error. You'd be surprised how many different colors are used in a make-up where the subject looks almost just gray and rotted away, lots of yellows and greens used sparingly help a ton. Stipple sponges help out a lot too, they help you layer the colors, rather than actually "blending" them all together into an ugly mess.
I've never really used that scar wax, I've got some but it just seems to hard and tough to work with. Lately all of my wounds have been done with gelatin( I'm sure there are some tutorials out there showing how to work with it) I really like the effect it gives. You just melt in the microwave for a few seconds, test it on you arm, or wherever, just to make sure it's not too hot, and go to town! heheh
Hope I helped a bit. Good luck!

Thanks man, yeah that helps out a TON actually!
Does gelatin last forever? Because I watched one tutorial on how to make your own, and the lady said it would either mold after awhile, or dry up.
