Description
Egyptian cat goddess. A goddess of the home and of the domestic cat, although she sometimes took on the war-like aspect of a lioness. Daughter of the sun god Re, although sometimes regarded as the daughter of Amun. Wife of Ptah and mother of the lion-god Mihos. Her cult was centered on her sanctuary at Bubastis in the delta region, where a necropolis has been found containing mummified cats. Bast was also associated with the 'eye of Re', acting as the instrument of the sun god's vengeance. She was depicted as a cat or in human form with the head of a cat, often holding the sacred rattle known as the sistrum....so i did a picture of her

I love the personality you gave her in this piece, very feline. The swirling background gives her an air of mystery, which is a nice touch.

Hey...someone who actauuly drew her as a native Egyptian cat species! The shape of the face reminds me of that of the ancient cat species of the Abbyssian, whom actually were worshipped by the Egyptians.

The expression is wounderful... love how you do them. The swirling smoke is nice. Feels like she has just transformed from a full cat form to this, slinky seductress(sp). Someone you have to watch out for.
In other words... I enjoy.

It is portrayed in two ways, Iv seen both. I prefer Bast over Bastet, But i do believe Bastet was the original name to this goddess. ^_^
