Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Deirdre would have been very quiet and sweet as she was young and it sure got the attention of a lot of males. Back then, she was simply a half-elf woman that thought of living her life peacefully with whomever she decided to marry with. Thankfully for Deirdre, her dream was walking towards becoming reality as she was loved by her betrothed, she never had an easy life because of all the prejudice but if she would be able to be with the one she loved all her life would have been worth it.
Unfortunately, Deirdre was always the focus of too much male attention, both because of her exotic look and her sweet way, and one man specifically didn't want to "share" her with no one. As the information of Deirdre's marriage reached this arrogant and powerful man, he had no doubts about what he needed to do. Driven by jealousy and anger, he barged into Deirdre house and ordered her to become his mistress (after all, for all she was beautiful, he could never really marry a commoner with no connections), insulted, Deirdre denied his "proposal" but the man would never go back empty handed, he tried to kidnap Deirdre and as her betrothed went to protect her, he was killed on the spot. Deirdre hadn't had the time to even look at him one last time as she was dragged away from his body, a great part of her heart if not all of it died that day.
Deirdre was taken to the man's castle but because she kept refusing him he threw her on the dungeons to ponder her options. Down there, Deirdre was kept for almost a month, refusing to eat or drink, it was cold and it she was definitively weak but by then, her mind had already left her, the sweet and calm woman who had withstand so many trials and prejudice through her life and even so never lost sight of herself was now on the edge of madness, her only desire before death was to be able to torture and kill that horrible man that destroyed her life. Her wishing was so powerful that in front of her she saw the spirit of her beloved, for a moment she almost forget all her dreadful emotions but as she looked closer, her betrothed had changed, his spirit as also been consumed by rage and vengeful thoughts and because of that, he would not be welcome in the after-life, he proposed to Deirdre once again, as a spirit, that they would always be together and their bond would give them strength to fulfill their desires. Deirdre accept his proposal and at least the two of them would be together, not as she wished, but she believed she had no option.
Because the vengeful spirit of her lover fused with her own being, it took 2 nights for her body to fully change in the dungeon and as she woke up in the third day, her hunger and weakness had all but gone, Deirdre understood she wasn't a being of this world anymore but she really didn't care. She broke out of the dungeon and was happy to see the fear in the face of the horrible man that destroyed her life as she killed him.
Our of curiosity, I believe Deirdre would always be moving and never really get attached to one single purpose, she simply does what she wants. But as she tell other people some of her story, they would always ask her "do you think your beloved would want to see you like this?" Deirdre would simply smile and reply something like "I guess so"
