Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Elis would be a complex woman, not because she was actually born like this but because the world demanded of Elis a certain posture and personality and it was impossible for her to have any choice in this matter, because you see, Elis is a princess from a small kingdom who grew up knowing full well her father would not last long, the king had a terrible disease and it was impossible to say how much time he had left, fortunately tho, the king was able to survive to see his little girl become a competent, determinate and passionate ruler and he taught her everything she needed to know about the world, after all, the king didn't want to leave a naive young princess behind when he passed, it would be impossible for her to impose the laws and order around the kingdom and among their neighbors like that.
The situation sure made Elis carry a heavier burden than someone her age should bother carrying, nevertheless, she is a proud member of the royal family, dignified and strict but with a heart of gold and ready to take up the great crown her father have once wore
