Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Elyon would be a very complex character, she was at first member of the high elfs society where her role would be to pray for nature sake and keep everyone from the city locked inside for their own good, she was always told that outside lies corruption and so it was for the best that only a few would go outside only when it was extremely needed and all the other would be protected inside the city (Even so, some of the elfs, specially children sometimes would vanish, when it happened the sages would demand even more praying and protection, they would say those kids left the city and became corrupted and because of it they cannot come back). Elyon never questioned her role, but when a little mischievous brat questioned her about the world outside it made her wonder, she tried to reach out to the other high elfs, she simply wanted to know about it to be able to answer that brat and keep him inside but they misunderstand her, they thought she wanted to leave and so they locked her in the dungeons until she would change her mind. Elyon got really mad at that situation, they didn't even listened to her, but down there in the dungeon she heard a whispering, close to a cry, she followed it and was surprised to see it led outside, the whispering became louder, she felt some people approaching and hided in some bushes, and she saw a couple of sages with two little children there, she waited a bit and when she thought about going to them she saw a human caravan getting close, that scene broke everything Elyon even believed, the sages were selling children to human nobles in exchange of precious gems, some magical itens or such, she understood that the whispering and crying were the nature weeping for the lost of her children, she let the sages go back to the city and followed the caravan, she ambushed them and let the children free bringing them to the city again.
She tried keeping at it, in the hopes that the sages would stop they wrong doing but it never stoped, Elyon decided then to leave the city for good, she still lives nearby and would live by stealing from those filthy human nobles and elf sages, she was branded a traitor back in the city but they couldn't tell everyone where she really were.
I thought Elyon would follow the whispers of mother nature, she would save children and instead of sending them back she rose a tree-top village for them to live peacefully, she would send letters to their families telling they were ok but she would never give their location, after all, she feared for the sake of those she saved. (everything she steals goes to this village so they can have a more of less stable life there)
