Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Laverne would be a calm and gentle woman... mostly! Laverne is a witch and a very superstitious one who always had a hard time keeping her cool, other mages and sages whose her mother (also a witch) had consulted linked Laverne's behavior with the fact that her body was always bursting with magic and having no way to calm things down inside herself made the young Laverne lose control easily, to put it simply. In time, Laverne's mother made a few charms for her in order to help her contain her own magic, of course, her mother never wanted Laverne to use the charms for the rest of her life but she believed that, if Laverne could learn, bit by bit, to get used with how her body works, she would eventually be able control the force of magic better than anyone else!
I believe that was exactly what happened, and Laverne was able to finally keep her restlessness away, after that, it has always been smooth sailing for her, Laverne could become the woman she always wished she was able to be, a cool-headed person who is able to think straight and find the solutions for any problem she encounters, even so, I believe that all the work her mother putted in some of her charms would have made Laverne want to keep some to always remind herself how caring her mother always was towards her, even when the world had lost hope of Laverne ever be able to live a normal life, so she keeps one or two of her mother's charms as a memento, fully aware of how badly they affect her magic power, but, I thought some of her foes would actually think those charms make her stronger, and would want to take it away from her and that would be their absolute downfall.
