Thoughts about the Character:

I thought Melfice would had been an talented and intelligent young man who many believes had a very bright future ahead of him. But I believe that war would have always left a deep mark into Melfice's life, first, it was because of war that he lost his parents and thus decided to train the art of sword-fighting, he was adopted by the chieftain himself and trained very hard for a couple of years, everyone who met Melfice knew he was destined for great things and even tho he was a silent person, he was well educated and very helpful and after he got engaged with the chieftain daughter it was all the more reason for Melfice to be seen as an even greater man by the eyes of everyone else.
Unfortunately, war changes people, and one of the affected was Melfice's fiancee, as the chieftain daughter she knew about a very powerful sword hidden in the grotto behind the temple it was easy to convince her to work for the enemy as a spy, and no one would imagine her true intentions, no one but Melfice... He saw through his fiancee's act, he really loved her and didn't want to believe it at first, but when she followed her to the grotto he knew what she was up to. Melfice tried to stop her, to remind her to never touch that cursed sword, but she laughed at him, told him it was all a scary story her father told everyone so no one would dare take the sword away, but when she touched it, the demon inside the sword easily possessed her and jumped to attack Melfice, with no other option, he fought his fiancee, broke her arm and some fingers of her hand holding the sword until she dropped it, her screams of pain pierced through Melfice's heart but at least she wasn't possessed anymore but she was so angry at Melfice that she pushed him towards the cursed sword, it only needed a single touch for Melfice to succumb to it, and even tho he was able to snap out a bit the demon would fight with all his might too to have full control of Melfice's body.
Some time passed after that, Melfice is not sure how much but he was finally able to keep the demon in check... The war had subsided and thing was starting to go back to normal, but Melfice knows he would never be the same anymore, he doesn't know very clearly what the demon did while he was fighting to take control of his own body, but Melfice knows it wasn't anything good. War took everything from him and so Melfice loath any kind of dispute for power. He often wonders what made his fiancee decide to change sides but unfortunately, he would only know the answer when he finds her on the other side...
