This is a good tutorial! You did a good job of explaining the steps.
In the future, I'd suggest going for less plastic-looking skin. The hair color also looks odd to me. I'd suggest adding some colors of different saturations instead of just light and dark versions of the same color. It's also a good idea to bring the background colors into the skin and hair.
Somehow it looks like the hair isn't attached to the head. It might be the way the hair's shadows fall on the face.
I love the vivid, neon-ish way you drew the eyes. They look like there is light beaming out of them.
Good job improving the old drawing. The old version was good, but the new version is even better.
