So, Story says "Damn" and "I lost?" but what's that in between? I can't figure it out.

PHFT!!! Find it amusing how Story is unsure about losing or not withput giving his all to make sure that his story goes exactly as plan.
As much as I hope Jareth will win this, it reminds me of Stephen King's book, Misery where the captor doesn't like the ending and forces the author to change it. Wonder if that goes like that.
