Background:

Rainbow Dash has always been a prominent competitor in Cloudsdale since a young age. Her father being a retired wonderbolt and her mother being a competitive feather dancer*, she was destined for greatness. Her short yet strong build helped her in flight and even helped her preservers through the pain of performing a sonic rainboom. After her first rainboom where she gor her cutie mark, her white markings became rainbow from the fast speed and the light refracting off of them. She kept traveling to show her flight skills all over Equestria to join the wonderbolts. She began to get better with her tricks and speed and soon her rainbow markings showed up without doing a rainboom. Rainbow ends up getting into the wonderbolts and has great seasons until her final performance where her rainboom permanently damaged her right wing. While it looks normal now, her wing cant maintain long or fast flight, so she became grounded in Our Town. There she found Double Diamond again. After the town was re-established with Starlight’s departure, the villagers began to re-enjoy their talents. For Dee (Double Diamond’s nickname), he rekindled his love for skiing and became a several time medalist in the sport. While he was tempted to move for his career, he stayed in his home town, after all, the mountains there are great for practice! When Rainbow met up with him, they quickly began a relationship and soon found out RD was expecting. Dee, being a gentleman, proposed and after the birth of their son, Cloud Nine, they got married. Rainbow wishes she got her wing back to proper shape, but she wouldn’t change her relationship for the world.

*Feather Dancing is a dance performed traditionally by pegasi. It involves flight and landing with constant and elegant movement. Unicorns and earth ponies can perform this type of dance with certain spells and artifacts. Since advancement spells and artifacts are banned in this sport, only pegasi are competitive dancers.
