Say what you will about Disney Star Wars, but they did have a little nod to IG-88 in the first episode of the Mandolorian series.

Had its ups and downs, but the fight against IG-88 was amazing. Perfectly captured just how insanely creepy the droid is.

And my all time favorite Star Wars droid is the Imperial Probe droid. But the IG-88 is a VERY close second

He had a hand in almost everything around that time. Designed the space suits for Alien as well - and similarly, a good chunk of the design was cut. He even made a semi-official He-Man design.
Seriously, what a guy.

McQuarrie is a legend. And chances are even if he hadn't worked on SW, he still would be.
I don't think there is any artist in the industry today who has produced their finest work after taking a bullet to the head.
