Yeah! stuff like this is one of the best parts of Art Books, or DVD Bonus features, because you get to see so many details you might miss out on otherwise!
I know how you feel though, not everybody's interested in the technical side of art, but hey, if you enjoy doing it (which I can tell you do by the complexity of some of these sketches!) then who cares what they think, You do you!

just more world building for my story I’m writing. but honestly, probably not xD it would be very inefficient irl. but that’s part of the fun of designing aircraft. is making it look exciting and interesting to look at, but also making it look like it could work by giving it real functions and applications
