Description
On the corner of Fourth and Fifth Street, there was the beginning to a long line of people. In the line there were people of all sorts, young and old, tall and short, skinny, plump, and in between. A little less than a fourth towards the front of the line was a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She was dressed for the cool autumn weather with a black t-shirt which had a large A on it and a loosely fitting plum colored unzipped jacket over top. To add to her warmth she wore a red, white, and blue scarf. She had on a pair of dark blue jeans and a pair of black and white Pumas. She held a few pictures in her hands and a silver sharpie was tucked in between two of her fingers. The look on her face was that of utmost glee as the line of people before her became shorter and shorter. Her joy filled eyes looked to the sign she was becoming nearer to. In bold letters it read; Meet the First Avenger: Captain America! One Day Only! Beside the caption was Captain America in an action pose, brandishing his famous shield.
After what seemed like a split second, the young woman was at the front of the line, face to face with her hero. “Hello there, miss.” The all American superhero smiled softly at her. A blush came over her youthful features. “It’s wonderful to meet you, Captain.” Her hands shook as she handed the pictures and pen to her idol.
Cap looked each photo over and looked at her in surprise. “I’ve never seen these before.” He was used to the same spread of photos he always got. The woman’s eyes became huge as she never expected he would notice. “Well that’s because I took all of them myself.”
“These look wonderful. Are you certain you want me to sign them?” His blue eyes met hers, a look of concern passing through them. “I’m positive Captain, it would be an honor.” She was surprised that she could even get coherent words out of her mouth. “It’s Steve to you, miss. Now can I know your name?” Cap smiled sincerely at her.
“My name is (F/N).” Her face had begun to hurt from smiling as hard as she was. “What a lovely name.” Steve looked into her eyes again before he signed all three of her pictures. “Thank you so much, Steve.” Their hands brushed as Cap returned the pictures and sharpie to her.
The (H/C) woman turned to leave to let the next person meet the hero. “Miss (F/N), would you like to go to dinner sometime?” Rogers burst out, completely forgetting to think. She stopped in her tracks and quickly contained herself as to not weird him out by having a panic attack. “Of course, that would be lovely.”
