Description
~*Peering through the wire mesh wall of her cubicle, a young Vietnamese, whose parents hold refugee status, awaits passage to a free life in the West. This was out of a National Geographic magazine. It is ebony pencil on 8.5 by 11 inches on sketch paper..in my sketch book.... approximately four and a half hours of work went into this one. The hands were truly wonderful to sketch....hope you can enjoy it as much as I did*~Related content

it looks like you tried to darken some areas in photoshop or something. next time, don't. it'a quite distracting. next time try adjusting the brightness/contrast instead. you did a wonderful job on the wire, though, and the little boy's eyes are quite expressive. i remember seeing this pic. national geographic has the best photos, no? anyway, nice job.

An excellent work. Well done shading and vision of eyes. But near the border something crashes - I mean the blur 'cut' parts.

This is so freaking sic! GREAT JOB. The eyes are perfect. My only critique, is that I dont really care for your filling the black on the puter... atleast not in that manner. But all in all, really outstanding.

I swore I wrote and posted a comment on this...
In any case: your pencil work here is amazing, I suspect you have been drawing for a while, otherwise your a prodigy.
The concept of a child behind cages, waiting for 'it' to be over, whether it's war, or something else... well it's very moving to say the least.
Especially considering the number of children who have most likely been this drawing of yours.
This would be a wonderful anti-war piece.
Commendable work.

thank you dear..indeed you wrote me a comment on this..but it was different from this one...i have been drawing for a few years..but now i just started an actual class at school and i became more knowledgeable about the internet so i am actually growing and getting jobs and stuff..i am not a prodigy i have to practice..lol...thankyou for your kind words...art is more than just a hobby and i like to think that my images stir up emotion or atleast thought....this child's eyes just tear me up.i had to draw it... thanx again...ashley

This is so heart-breakingly fantastic.
A child behind a cage: he wants out... the artwork itself is great but the concept just kills me... makes me wanna cry.
Reminds me of the vietnam children kept behind a cage as their villages were swept...
You've already got alot of congrats but this is worth the time to praise.
Cya.
