[Edit: Added details and changed some stuff and I think it looks a little better (definitely wasn't satisfied before). It took a week because I ended up being gone all weekend. Anyway I hope it looks a little better to someone else's eyes too.]Aaaahh this one was hard. @_@ I've never drawn a tortie before - I have two calicos so I get confused, and also painting two colours so close together without actually mixing is complicated.
I think the purpose of this character was to be forever-out-of-reach type of thing, since she was so likable but died so soon in the series. She appears so often in visions and dreams but is as unreachable as ever, and even if she had lived she would be isolated by the life of a medicine cat. So what I wanted was a sort of ephemeral feel to this but it's a bit above my skill level at the moment so I played around with lighting instead.

Media: Corel Painter 4.0, Photoshop CS5 for editing. Around 5 hours for this one because I failed really hard at the markings, and somehow forgot to sketch it first lmao

Very pretty! I just love the way you do cat eyes. I think you captured Spottedleaf very well! Her pose is that of which you'd see in an old fashioned portrait, and usually those, in my opinion, always seemed a bit distant, as if the figure almost never existed. Nicely done!
