An almost forgotten "Broken Arrow" took place South of Albuquerque on the 22nd of May in 1957.
A Mark 17 shook free of it's Bomb Bay mount & fell through the Bomb Bay Doors of a B-36 "Peacekeeper" during a Thunderstorm before the Bombardier could insert a Safety Rod.
Fortunately, the Thermonuclear Warhead didn't Detonate ... it had a Yield of 15 Megatons ! ! !
Ironically the High Explosivies did Detonate & made a Crater & set a portion of the desert on fire.
