Hey guys~ these are some rough drafts (not final!) for Nightingale, Misty, and Illusion (from left to right).

I was a little bit hesitant about posting sketches because I can be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to final line art, but since I personally looove seeing other artists’ sketches, doodles, and how they go about doing their thing, I thought I would also show a bit of my process! I’m also trying to practice keeping it more sketchy and being confident in doodles instead of making it “as clean as possible” which is where most of my time usually goes. Hope you enjoy!

These three ponies are really close and spend a lot of time together, so I’ve been trying to figure out their heights and sizes in relation to each other for when I draw them hanging out. The line shows Nightingale’s proportions and I tried to base off of it, because Misty is the tallest and leanest of the trio while Nighty and Lulu are roughly the same height and build. When I’m designing kids, I usually take their parents’ color palettes and sort of play around with the colors. Then I make a quick sketch and test out the colors before sketching a cleaner draft and filling in with colors!
