Corgis baby!

We've got a corgi cross, and I've just got to say that you've captured her "attitude" in your corgi pictures. She's such a snot sometimes, and such a sweetie other times.

And she smiles big like that, too

My family owns a dog that we believe is part Cardigan Corgi, part beagle and part terrier named Socrates. He was born in Georgia, but he acts like a true New Englander. He loves playing in the snow.

YEA! I can ever tell by the markings, who this was modeled after!

He knows he's handsome, and is FLATTERED you noticed ;0P

Haha, THANKS! I will work more on the brindle markings on my next one. This one doesn't show the brindle so much. I played around with it on a scrap piece of paper, trying to figure out a good way to paint it but I was afraid to try on this fellow as I really liked his super smily face. I was hoping I could get away with him just being a strategically shaded dark brown/tan. Another color I want to play with is the blue mearle. That is such a lovely color, I wish we had it in Pembroke genetics.

I think blue merle would be MUCH easier than brindle... since merle is RANDOM splashes, while brindle is more uniform! I know I have an easier time painting merles on my pins atleast.

I would have done the ears slightly lower set... some have the Pem earset, but it's a MAJOR fault!

Good Cardi info can be found here: [link] including pics. "The Ideal Cardigan Head" is one any Cardi artist should read. Traum has a VERY correct head for the breed (he did well at a breed national, and is ALWAYS complimented for it), so makes a great head, and earset model! heehee

Kewl! I'm glad I did ok. Their face is shaped different that the Pembroke and I often have trouble illustrating that. And the ears I think are a little different too. I think the Pembroke is more 'fox'looking in the face than the Cardigan.
