Description Harmaina with Toulasidi in the end of the stone path.
Amfissa, Fokida, Greece

Black & White version. Search my gallery for more photos of Harmaina.

Walking to the city of Amfissa, visitors are impressed by the preservable traditional settlement of Harmaina, the district of tanners and Tampakides, where there are the work shops where leathers were processed, dyed and dried. Tanning and the trade of leathers flourished during the first years of the Turkish domination and constituted an important factor of the economic prosperity of the area. There is great interest in Toulasidi, a building where tanners washed the skins in water of the spring. The space has been shaped so as to host the creations of local and foreign artists, concerts and theatrical representations.
