Rainbow Dash: What makes you think that?
Twilight: Well... those white faces are a good clue, don't you think? They appeared from nowhere.
Rainbow Dash: Uh.... yeah. Now..... what? Don't tell me you want to study them?
Twilight: Uh.... I don't know... I never met those before...
Rainbow Dash: What? Seriously? You gotta be kinding...
Twilight: Maybe.... they are friendly?
Rainbow Dash: What make you so sure about that?
Twilight: They don't seem willing to attack us, that's one thing.
Rainbow Dash: Or maybe they are looking at us and are strategizing before...
Twilight: No. I don't think so.

Twilight: They would have stayed hidden.
Rainbow Dash: Yeah. Good point.... Note that they still haven't moved so far...
Twilight: You're right. It's like.... they are waiting.

Twilight: They are stories to scare ponies, not inform them.
Rainbow Dash: Whatever. Still, ponies seems to enjoy that I tell them, though. Especially fillies and...
Twilight: Shush!!!!
Rainbow Dash: What the....
Twilight: SHUSH!!!! They.... seem to have said something....
Rainbow Dash: Really? I didn't hear a thing...
Twilight: Stay quiet, Rainbow. Just.... listen carefully....
Rainbow Dash: Okay....
They stayed there, ears erected and frowning. Until some mumbling went to their ears.
Rainbow Dash: What was that?
Twilight: I don't know. I didn't quite catch what they said...
The murmurs became stronger and insistants.
Rainbow Dash: Brrrr! I feel shivers down my spine...
Twilight: Me either.... but... but curiosity got me....
Rainbow Dash: What do mean?
Twilight: I.... I must know what they are murmuring... are you staying?
Rainbow Dash: Yeah.
Again, they kept their ear erected in their direction, attentive to any noise. And then... the murmurs strong enough to be audible.
Spirits: Pretty.... ponies........ pretty pretty ponies....
Rainbow Dash: Uh....
Twilight: *gulps*
Spirits: Pretty... ponies.... we must... brush.... pretty ponies..... help us.... pretty ponies.... we want pretty colors like you... pretty ponies.... are you afraid of us........ pretty ponies.....?
They couldn't move. They were shivering like little fillies, maximum leveled creeped, the faces still immobile, but staring at them.
Spirits: ..... we won't hurt..... you...... pretty ponies.... just stay there.... pretty ponies..... we have all night.... for having fun..... pretty ponies...
Rainbow Dash: AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Stop calling us pretty ponies!!!!! *breathing heavily*
Twilight: Rainbow!!! Calm down!!! They are just... Did did they just came closer.... and became brighter?
Rainbow Dash: Twi.... I don't like this one bit.... let's go...
Some appeared behind them while they were trying to listen. Coming closer as well.
Rainbow Dash: We.. we are surrounded! We must escape by the air, fast.
But Rainbow Dash's wings couldn't bulge. They felt like some kind of magic froze them.
Rainbow Dash: I.. I can't move my wings!
Twilight: What?
Rainbow Dash: I... I can't fly us out of here! We're trapped!!!
Twilight: Oh no! So much for my curiosity. *sigh* My damn curiosity!
Rainbow Dash: What we do now?
Twilight looked at her friend with a look that she could recognized. The two mares hold each other while they screamed for help, while the spirits were coming closer by the minute...
Twilight: Help! Please somepony!!!!
Rainbow Dash: Help! Anypony!!!!
Suddenly, a green flash appeared from nowhere. The spirits screamed in unison to the sight of the light and... disappeared, under the dumbstrucked eyes of Twilight and Rainbow Dash. They felt relieved and stopped holding each other, a bit of blush on their cheeks.
Twilight: Thank you! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!!! Whoever you are! You probably saved our lives.
Rainbow Dash: Who is there? And could you put this light away... they are going straight in my eyes....
The light came closer and they found out it came from a staff and soon recognized the silhouette of their zebra friend.
Zecora: I must not put this down, they are still around...
Twilight: Zecora! Thank Celestia!
Rainbow Dash: What are you doing here?
Zecora: I heard your screams of help,Β so I got prepared for any occasion to held. But I felt the spirits were high tonight, so I grab my spirit staff in case of fight.
Rainbow Dash: Spirit staff? That thing with the green light?
Zecora: Yes.
Twilight: I never read or heard about them. But it seems it got us rid of those... spirits... They were coming for us...
Zecora: You are lucky tonight, but the next one won't be as bright. Come quick to my place for the night, they can come back for a worse fright.
Twilight: We are following you.
Rainbow Dash: Yeah. Let's go! Now!
The three mares began galloping in the direction of Zecora's house, the zebra in front holdind her staff in her mouth with the light still bright. Until soon, the light dimmed and gone out when they arrived to her place. Zecora opened the front door and let her two pony friends come in before coming in herself and closed the door. They tried to take their breath from the fright and the running.
Twilight: What were those.... faces?
Zecora: Spirits of the ones who died, killed by those in the forest who hide. They try to get the other's souls, so they can stop to roam. This green light put them away, but I can teach you to do your own way.
Twilight: I'd like to greatly. Thank you again Zecora.
Rainbow Dash: Ummmmm....
Zecora: Yes, Rainbow Dash?
Rainbow Dash: Do... do they can use spells so a... pegasus can't fly?
Zecora muffled a laugh.
Zecora: I think not they can do use any, but your fright must have be plenty. So you must have been really scared and your wings must have froze of fear.
Rainbow Dash: What? No way!
Twilight glared at her.
Rainbow Dash: Yeah... okay I was scared. But still can fly when I'm scared.... you know... for fleeing?
Zecora: Ummm.... That is worrying.... good thing for knowing. I must take this as a note and probably study this more alone. But for now time to close eyes, it's too late for more insight. Come, I'll show where to sleep.
Twilight: Good idea.
Rainbow Dash: *yawn* Yeah.
The two ponies followed their saviour for getting a good night sleep before going back home the next day, their experience still hauting their minds.
I hope you like this little story based and inspired by your drawing, which I find wonderful. For the fact, I do believe in ghosts.

That's what I do with my stories. When I find an artwork piece inspiring enough, I write a little story based upon it.

I certainly will. I've done that once, I drew an image of a flower growing from a broken and abandoned building, and ended up creating an entire book off of it. sadly, I lost it, otherwise I probably would have put it on deviantART...Β
