Description It's Sharon and Susan from the movie The Parent Trap. ^_^ In the movie, Sharon was played by Hayley Mills and Susan was played by Hayley Mills. I drew it for the 's Good Girls Collab . I tried giving a bit of a Disney look to them, with how I did their noses and with the soft shading (I roughly referenced the shading style from Aladdin's 'punctual' screenshot - I seriously searched for "Aladdin punctual" to look for shading reference). And yet it only looks soft when viewed at full size. But I also tried to make them look recognizable from the movie.

It was easier for me to draw their poses than it has been for a lot of pictures. I sketched them out, then I took some photos of myself in the poses and adjusted the sketch based on that. Then I edited their faces in Photoshop based on some screenshots from the movie. ...then I spent a really long time smoothing out the lineart. And I colored it today. ...then after I finished everything, I shrunk the one on the right by 98% because I thought their body might've been a little too large, and it messed with the coloring a little bit. :/

I took a little bit of liberty with their camp uniforms by giving Sharon a belt. I wanted her to look proper, sitting up straight and everything, and Susan to look... not proper, and I thought giving her a belt would help with that image. I also wanted Sharon to look a little curious, and Susan to look a little upset, but I'm not sure if it worked. The little maple badge thing they have says Camp and Inch. Inch is the name of the camp leader. I found out a little about the camp from looking it up before I realized the word on the badge wasn't the name of the camp (I couldn't quite read the word in the screenshots).
I couldn't seem to get a clear screenshot of Susan's tennis shoes, but I found an image of a tennis shoe online that resembled them, which is called Nike City Court VII, so I referenced it. I still couldn't see the laces very well, though, and just did those without reference. I think they look okay though.

This is really awesome! I like how you captured their appearances while still keeping the cartoon style!

Sharon has the long hair? I thought both their hair were short when they first meet when I saw this movie when I was growing up. (Actually, I think I saw the movie only once and mostly watch other Disney movies, including the 1998 version of 'The Parent Trap' with Lindsay Lohan.)

I didn't remember much about this 1961 movie, but the scene where they first meet and the scene where they play 'Let's Get Together were the only 2 scenes I remember.

Nah, when they first meet, they look a bit different. And they hate each other for wearing the other's face until they realize they're related. When they decide to switch places, they have to look and act like each other, though. So there's hair cutting, nail biting, and accent learning.
When I was little, it was just... one of the well-known movies. (but I did look it up and watch it right before drawing the pic) It was probably something my dad had recorded and played a few times. He recorded hundreds of tapes, but unfortunately, they're gone now. There were too many to look through, anyway, though.
I think I saw the Lindsay Lohan version once, maybe. I might should look it up and watch it again. Hm... there was a scene with sword fighting, and... I'm not sure. It's been awhile. I didn't like it as much just because I thought the twins acted differently from the other version. I tend to like whatever version of something I see first, and have to compare every other version to it.

This one was pretty quick, besides the lineart part. I thought about just leaving it sketchy, but then I had drawn the lines a little differently at different times so it didn't look right, and I did their faces in Photoshop so the original pencil lines wouldn't work either (and then I bought the Aladdin soundtrack and I didn't mind mindlessly working on lines if I was listening to something else).

Hope you like it. ^_^

I grew up with this one. The newer versions of both The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, I thought seemed unnecessary and the characters felt different to me. I might should watch the Lohan version of The Parent Trap again, though. It's been awhile since I've seen it. I think I liked that one more than her Freaky Friday remake.

personally, I discovered the older version of Freaky Friday only a few weeks ago, so I couldn't say which one I prefer... both stories are roughly the same, but they have so many different scenes that I find it difficult to compare...

I'm gonna find Parent Trap and let you know!!
