Wait wait wait. MK was only training Kirby in secret. At least not the time in Kirby's Epic Yarn when Yin Yarn or whatever his name is possesed Meta Knight. (That's what I think was why Kirby was defeating him.)

That didn't seem to be the case in (mini) games such as Kirby Quest, Ghost Trap and Super Star (Ultra).

... W-well... He must have had a divine force helping him. Judging from his attitude to fighting, Kirby wouldn't join a fighting competition/tournament without a reward relevant to his interests. I highly doubt a rather plain, gold trophy would genuinely interest him.
To be honest, I don't know how he managed to defeat me, of all warriors. It was a fluke - most definitely.

He IS one of NightMare's creations... It could possibly explain things as to why he wins all the time, but it's possibly something else. It was probably the free food After-Game that made him so drived to win. But other than that, I have no clue what he would want if he'd win something...

Episode 3 of Kirby Right Back at Ya! Kabu tells Tiff and Tuff that one of Nightmare's creations went wrong and that creation was Kirby. It should be on YouTube, it should be after the scene where MK, Sword and Blade try to find Kirby.
