Bio:
-After many prior attempts, Benjamin's parents almost began to lose hope that they would be able to conceive a child. Every time the queen laid an egg she would nest it for a couple of days and then hold it near and feel for warmth and listen for a heartbeat, but she never felt or heard anything. Just dud egg after dud egg. Then one day hours later after she gave up on one of her latest eggs...so far as even throwing it away already...she noticed that her pets (which are native to their kingdom and are pretty much breed to be 'egg sitters') were trying to get into the garage container where she had disposed the egg. She didn't realize at first what they wanted from in there, but once they spotted her they frantically ran up to her and directed her to the one that held the thrown away egg. She was hesitant at first to pick it up again..due to still dealing over the heartbreak that it was another dud...but her instincts were screaming inside her to 'Pick it up.Pick it up'..and when she finally did....she noticed she had made a grave mistake. It wasn't a dud after all.
-It was super light and faint, but there was a little heartbeat beating inside that egg.
-Realizing her mistake, she quickly enfolded the egg with one of her wings and rushed the egg back to her nesting chambers, where she stayed for hours trying to warm her little egg baby back up.
-Her husband eventually found her in there and had come to comfort her..thinking that she was still emotional over there latest failure and was grieving, but then she told him about what had happened and that she was trying to save their egg.
-Eventually the baby inside became stable and for the rest of the months he was inside the egg, his mother and father took turns caring for him. (Andwhoeverwasn'toneggduty,wouldbringfoodandotherstufftotheonewhowas.Likegoodbirbparentslol).
-They continued this until one day Benjamin's mother felt the egg moving..and heard tiny whimpers coming from the egg...because BAM BABY BENJAMIN WAS HATCHING!
-When he broke his shell enough to show his little face, his parents thought he was the cutest little pink blob they had ever seen~ but by time he managed to get his little feet out...his father thought a little bit different..because he had legs and feet like their 'bird forms'..which told him that something wasn't right. His mother though paid no mind to his feet and just scooped her little pink baby up and coddled him~ but only for a moment because she did notice that he didn't look 'the best'.
-After being seen by doctors, they found that the little baby birb had a weak heart and that his vocal cords appeared to be paralyzed. (Hismothertothisdaystillblamesherselfforhimhavingboththeseproblems).
-Learning about his conditions his parents treated him like GLASS as a baby and through his toddler years. They were iffy when thinking about trying to encourage him to speak (to see if he learned words) and often questioned if they should teach him sign language....In the end, they decided to teach him sign language BUT also teach him how to talk since the doctors said that he would still be able to speak.
-His parents kind of doubted the speaking thing at first since he didn't say anything for the first 5 years of his life, so it shocked them when at 5 he said his first word, well sentence, which was........."Shush love. Don't cry." (who he directed at a young baby Audrey who tried to crawl, but fell on her face....and cried//shot; so he picked her up and told her this as he wiped her tears).

Extra Info:
-Unlike the rest of his citizens, he cannot turn into a regular cockatoo, but his arms can transform into wings (wingarmspfft) so he can still fly and stuff pfft ; v ;
-Prefers perching on things instead of sitting or lying on them. This includes when he goes to sleep...like instead of a bed he just has this nice comfy PERCH//shot
-Has a habitat of eating with his feet most of time. Although it's not a odd habitat in HIS kingdom to do it, his mother doesn't like for him to do it at other royal's dinners, so she tries to get him to practice "eating right" at home. So you know, for he won't do it at someone else's house pfft. ; v ;
-Hair feathers are usually slicked back unless upset, angered, or excited about something.
-Also when he is "excited" in another way ALL his feathers will puff up~
-Although he was sickly as a child...he is a bit better now. Although, he still gets pretty sick from time to time.
-Although he can talk..because of the paralysis in his vocal cords..if he does so for a long time it begins to hurt him.
He responds mostly with small sounds and movements: like a small laugh if he's a amused, a grunt if he's not, a smile and a nod if he agrees, a frown and a shake of the head if he disagrees, just pretty much basic body language.
-However he will talk if either he gets frustrated with someone who is having trouble understanding his "communication methods" (and he'll just come on out and tell them what's what) or he is impressed with something said or an action someone did so much that he thinks it deserves a verbal response to it. He usually won't say much still, but at least he talked pfft. He'll also talk when introducing himself to someone for the first time.
-If someone offers him food...HE WILL TAKE IT. However, if they say something like "Does Polly wanna cracker~"....he will not take it...and will probably give a pretty disgusted look.
-Although he doesn't talk much he LOVES to sing~ and if a song is playing that he knows, he will most likely sing along with it. He mostly sings for performances in his kingdom though, but he only does those on "good days". It kind of makes him sad that he can't sing as much as he would like to though hgns ; v ;
-He likes to stay clean at all times and 'preens' himself if he gets messed up. It also bothers him a little if others around him are unkempt...but if he's not acquainted with them he'll just let it be. -At first glance most think that Mr.Barrymore is just a baby cockatoo that's like a companion to Benjamin, but he's actually there to keep track of Benjamin's doings so he can report back to his father...or go and get help if Benjamin becomes ill.
-Mr.Barrymore accompanies Benjamin everywhere he goes. He doesn't talk to him or anything to him though...he just...sits on him...and stalks him pfft.
-Think of him as the "Little Birdie Who Told Me So" type of guy pfft. Likeliterallypfft.
-And he's not a baby, he's just got baby fat pfft. He's actually pretty old.

Audrey - (Close childhood friend) He has known lil' Audrey since she was a tiny lil' baby budgie~ and takes on the role of a "big brother" to her (unfortunatelyforherbecauseshehadacrushonhimforalongggtime,buthasnotbeenabletoadvancewithhimbecauseofthislol//shot). Audrey's siblings bully her terribly, and he has always felt bad for her about that, so he's become a 'shining knight' who shoos away her siblings and protects her like a daddy birb. Sonya- (Close childhood friend) He might have known Audrey since she was a baby~ but he's known Sonya since they were both practically EGGS. Sonya and his mother were thick as thieves, so they were both excited when they both laid eggs around the same time! They were so excited in fact that they even had 'egg play dates'//shot. Once they both hatched though, they of course spent a lot of time together as well. Once upon a time, their parents even tried to set up an arranged marriage between them, but the children just wanted to stay just friends and so eventually the idea of that was dropped. As they became teens though feelings started to change on Sonya's end and developed a one-sided love with Benjamin..although Benjamin was (andisstill) unaware of her feelings and just believes them still to just be close friends. MP3- (Close friend/Dance Partner) Benjamin and her's friendship started with dance practices they had together in the Music Kingdom. Most kids were a little overwhelmed with MP3's SUPER friendliness, but Benjamin welcomed it with warm arms, er, wings lol. At balls they both attend they tend to hurry and find each other, so they won't have to dance with other people (unless they want to; they're kind of like each other's 'wing man' pfft). Like with Audrey, he tends to take on a "Daddy birb" role with MP3 sometimes and will enfold her in his wings. He also preens her hair. If he doesn't do this already, MP3 will tell him "Baby bird Benji~" and he will know she means to cover her up with his wings. (She'sgothimfuckingtrainedlol//shot). Although they've been seen being "lovey-dovey" before (kissing, hugging, etc.) , neither of them have ever had romantic feelings toward the other before and have just always stayed good friends.
