In the Game series, "The Elder Scrolls", the faction of assassins known as the "Dark Brotherhood" is lead by 5 people. 4 of the 5 are called "speakers", the 5th is called the "Listener", 4 fingers and a thumb. An open palm is the symbol of the Dark Brotherhood, and can represent Sithiss, their lord and master God, who is like a father to them all. Their mother is the one that speaks to their father, the mother then tells the leader, the "Listener", what to do, the Listener then tells the speakers what the mother told them.

Together, they act as "The Hand of Sithiss".

Now that I have told you this, I must kill you, for if I do not I will have betrayed the Brotherhood, and to do so, is to invoke the wrath of Sithiss. (thats a joke btw)
