Description
Perhaps it was nothing more than coincidence...Perhaps it was all planned by our Gods...
...Either way, this is a twitsted fate we have met...
She thought to herself as her hair whipped about her face and long ears. The Mana pressure increased even more from the goddess before them the longer she knelt at that so-called 'divine throne' of those accursed Rerodevu. Not that all of that race of Demons were bad- No, she knew one who was stood on her side all these years. Her beloved friend was out there holding off the horde for them, for her, much against her protests. If something were to happen to him, she'd-
A hand rested on her shoulder, a firm grip holding it in assurance, the hand of the mortal boy. She shuddered at his touch. He didn't know what was to become of her, he never would allow her to do it if he knew the price that came with their victory. He would never let her go though with such a thing like that... Never...
"Come on, after all of this, you're now getting nervous?" He said, voice raised to be heard over the rushing air around them, that friendly smile creeping across his gentle lips. "After these years, you've never backed down from anything!"
Yes, this is true... But you don't understand, my short-lived love.. Oh, if you only knew what I had to do.. She shook her head of this thought, this wouldn't get their land back. Iel's freedom was near, everything was at stake. She left out a shuddering sigh and looked at the mortal, her lips twitching ever so slightly, taking her time to pick her words wisely as not to reveal what she had to do.
"Do promise me one thing before I do what needs to be done..." The words passed over her lips, voice barely audible. She shook slightly, not from nerves- No, for once in her long life, she shook in fear. It was something she felt as her own emotion, oh by the gods, she understood why humans hated it so much at this moment. The emotion from someone else was bad enough... But for her to feel it as her own... It made her stomach turn uneasily, wanting to do nothing but vomit.
He looked at the Angel curiously, head tilted slightly.
"S-sure, anything!" He stammered a bit, hand gripping the divine blade's hilt unconsciously.
"No matter what..." She paused for a second, picking her words carefully. "Go through with ending this. Please... Promise me... I want this to end... I want Iel to be free of this ancient war..."
He was taken back by the sudden desperation in her voice, something that had never been heard from her in their years together. Not knowing what to say, he slowly nodded in agreement. "Al-alright..!" The boy straightened his posture, giving a more confident stance, accompanied by that sweet, friendly smile of his. "I promise you... Iel will be saved."
She merely let out a gentle smile, one that could only be described as her smile. The Angel let out another shuddering sigh, a familiar orb-like ball of light forming in her right hand. The ball took the shape of a tribal-like dagger, glowing ever so softly. Her hand shook as she raised her hand to the back of her neck, the blade's soft light dancing across her skin. She closed her eyes as she spoke softly, speaking in her Angelic tongue, her words sounding as if giving a prayer of hope...
"For all we have lost, let us regain what is ours... Let us rebuild what was destroyed.. Let us meet the fate we were destined to join."
He looked away right when the blade of light magic met the back of her neck, closing his eyes tightly, heart letting out a painful pang from the soft thud of her body falling forward. For what reason did she do such a thing!? She knew how much her life meant to him, she knew it! And yet.. With one swift motion, the Angel... No... His Angel... Took her own life! It was as if there was nothing left now, all hope lost.. What purpose did saving this land mean if she isn't here to see it?! A sharp outcry of agony had snapped him out of his despair, the boy suddenly whipping around to see even their Demon companion fall. His raven hair falling into his face as his body fell limp, another Demon laughing manically at ripping his spine free of his back. The boy's heart sank more with his friend's demise...
This was the end... It was all over...
No.. No.. What was he thinking.. He promised her. He turned to face the goddess, the wicked being only smirked- What could be considered a smirk, she had no lips, nor eyes for that matter. Even he, a mere human, felt the surrounding Mana pressure drop drastically with the Angel's death. This was his chance!! The boy gripped the divine blade and took his stance before bounding off at the damned goddess of despair, sword raised high, determination showing so clearly in his eyes...!!
...Then it was gone...
In one fell motion...
It was over...
The divine blade dropped to the floor with a metallic clatter, the boy's eyes wide in shock. Slowly he looked down and saw for himself... The goddess's own blade protruded from just under his own rib cage, his very blood dripping down the sword's blade, spattering onto the floor.
Everything was fading... Fading into the darkness... His eyelids drooped, feeling heavy... The room was spinning.. His chest.. It.. Hurt so much... His eyes finally fell shut as the goddess ripped her blade free of the mortal child, his body crumpling on the floor into his on blood. And with what one could only assume was a cackle, the goddess let out an unearthly howl that echoed through the halls. The Demons outside mimicked after her cries, victory was theirs!!
…...And with that.... The land of Iel remained to be that of which the Angel named it....
Hell.

Wow ):
This is amazing. Horribly tragic and sad, but freaking amazing. I really wished you'd write the beginning of it; I'd love to see more of these characters.
(Now I feel bad about teasing Razor the other day...)
