Fire crackling in the waning light of day,
Sun setting fast yet jokes and laughs,
They chase the fears away.
I find myself so very glad,
To have found such a family.

And while we may be separate,
Living different lives.
And while I may have my own fears...
of getting left behind.
Nights like these, a remedy,
They chase the fears away.
I find myself so very glad,
To have found such a family.

Sometimes it’s just easier,
to take a big old breath.
To just release and forget what’s going on.
It’s like nothing ever happened,
There are no empty spaces,
Yet come the end, you all disappear.

And while I may be older,
I’m still treated as a child.
Cursed with a body taking its sweet time.
You tell me to be patient.
To not take it for granted.
Yet you’re soaring the skies,
while my feet are firmly planted.

But sharing food with you.
Magic, laughter and fun.
Our journeys do not end apart,
No, they’ve only just begun.
And while my mind may be foggy,
Our paths together are clear.
And it just makes me happy
that my true family is here.
To chase the fears away, away.
Chase those fears away.
