“You doing alright over there?”
Starlight jolted upright, startled by the sudden voice breaking him from his thoughts. His claw just barely avoiding being bitten by the sharp action. “Ah, yes, yes. Just... budgeting.” He responded with a sheepish grin toward the shop assistant who had addressed him. He had been standing in one spot for several minutes now, weighing up his options in his mind. He just wanted to get something nice for Rad... a gift to say thank you for helping him out the day before. But he also had to remind himself that he also needed to stick to only spending the money he’d brought with him. It was all he had on him at the moment after all. The rest of it safely hidden away in his little cottage back home.
“You could always give the bank a visit if you’re a little short on cash. Oh and word of advice. It’d help me a ton if you could trade in those coins for some newer ones too while you’re there. Not many places in Last Notch will accept old busted up coins like that - they wreak havoc on our tills... not your fault though... Can’t say I’ve seen any pretty new coins from the Wynsiphers I’ve helped.”
“Bank?”
“Exactly. Just down the street and to the left. I’ll see you again once you’re done there.”
