"Rose, do you mind if I let off some steam for a second? I... have a few things I want to contemplate and I'd find it easier to talk them over with you."

The soircat purred rubbing against Kaboodle's side. She had no idea what her daeling friend was saying but she sounded kinda worried. She also smelt kinda worried so she must've been kinda worried and if there was anything Rose knew how to do it was sit, stare curiously and wait until the worried smell went away.

"Aww... thank you, Rose. I'll try to make this quick."

"Alani! Get your butt over here now!"

The solid sand soircat bull gingerly approached his owner. He didn't like it when they got shouty. Shouty meant that they were angry and angry meant Alani had done a bad thing. But Alani couldn't remember doing a bad thing today... or this week... or even this month. Ok, maybe that was pushing it. Alani did sneak into the treat box and stole one of the big treats three weeks ago... but he had already gotten shouted at for that... well, technically he was shouted at for throwing it back up again at the foot of Drizzle's bed, but that wasn't important. What was, was the shouty daeling.

"Sit."

Alani obeyed the command immediately. He was good at this trick and used to get treats for it... but not now. Alani missed those treats...

“Ok, so, I got into a bit of an argument with another devidae earlier today... I won’t name any names because that’d be really rude of me, but all you need to know is that it was mainly about the Hare." Kaboodle shifted a bit in place before starting to pace, her nubs moving wildly with emotion as she spoke. "They seemed adiment that poor little hare was going to kill us all and that I was to blame for it."

"You know that dumb pink girl, right?" Drizzle spat their tail flexing its jaws causing Alani to flinch slightly. "Ha, yeah, well, I found out that SHE was the one who has been spreading those awful lies about how 'nice' and 'misunderstood' that damn beast is." The daeling let out a short huff, kicking at the grass under her hooves like an angered bull. "She just... Why is she like this? Why doesn't she understand that that thing could kill us all in an instant if it wanted to!? Ugh!" They stomped their hooves for a monent before pacing in front of their soircat. "And then SHE told ME that I was cold hearted and left! Absolutely unbelievable! I'm not the one who wants to kill us all by letting a monster loose in our home. I want to protect everyone here! How is that cold hearted?!"

Kaboodle sighed, continuing to trot back and forth. "Well, I was just thinking... that maybe I was a little harsh on them? I mean... they might have flung some nasty insults around but that didn't mean that I should have called them things back." She paused her pacing, going silent in thought for a moment before talking again, "They aren't cold-hearted... They're just so stuck in their 'them-and-us' mindset that they don't know any better..." Kaboodle sighed, sitting down, facing her soircat who had been sitting and watching the entire time, "...but doesn't everything deserve a chance to live? Everyone a chance to learn and develop. Not everything is as black and white as they think it is... and that’s just something I’m going to have to teach them, right?"

Drizzle's eyes flickered with a yellow glow in annoyance and she kicked up yet another clump of grass, "She may be older than me but... I guess she just hasn't had the same experiences that I have?" Her shoulders dropped as she sat, most of the anger washing away with a deep sadness swiftly taking its place. "I just... I may not have known my parents or anyone in Woodsburrow or even Woodsburrow itself... but I feel such a strong connection to the place, ya know? Having it here... one false step. That’s all it takes. One misplaced foot...” Drizzle paused allowing herself to breathe as the tears drew rivers down her cheeks. “Alani... What would I have been like if it had never... n-never... I... I'm sorry... I... I know... B-Big tough warriors... don't cry... I just... unlike her, I'm not blissfully unaware of everything. I guess, I'm almost... jealous of her? I don't know... I just... maybe... I was a little bit hard on her... but... she has to learn the world is not all sunshine and soircats at some point, right?"
