It's a adorable visual experience to see it done in sketches. I might add it being quite refreshing. This sort of art style that would make me daydream about being at school, but at the same time aching under my longing to see Wreck IT Ralph in the meantime.

In short, this art style in pencil has a scholastic feeling to it.
As if I am being enveloped in school, and the only thing that matters to me in class is keeping my connection up with that movie alive as possible (daydreaming for example). I guess it was to do with me finding schoolwork rather dry, and harsh for my taste, and plus my need to have more fun. That's just my opinions revived from seeing this drawing.
